Who We Are

A cycling obsessive who got tired of bad advice.

PedalPickr is an independent cycling review and buying-guide site run by Jhon — Jhon is the co-founder of PedalPickr. He helps readers cut through the noise with clear cycling reviews, practical buying advice, and honest product insights focused on real-world value..

Jhon co-founded PedalPickr to make cycling research easier for everyday riders. Too many guides feel rushed, biased, or packed with jargon. He wanted to build a site that gives simple, useful advice people can trust before they spend money. At PedalPickr, Jhon focuses on product research, comparison work, and buyer-focused content that helps riders choose the right gear with less guesswork and more confidence.

“I started this site because I kept finding reviews that were clearly written by someone who’d never touched the product. Cyclists deserve better.”

— Daniel, Founder
What makes us different

Real rider perspective

Every review is written from the saddle, not a spreadsheet. We cover e-bikes, MTB, gravel, commuter, and road riding because we actually do all of them.

Deep research, not surface skimming

Before any recommendation goes live, we dig into spec sheets, test data, long-term owner reviews, and compatibility reports. We do the homework so you don’t have to.

No sponsored rankings

Our picks are based on performance, value, and real-world suitability — never on who pays us. Affiliate links help keep the lights on, but they never decide the winner.

Built for all riders

From a first-time commuter adding a pannier rack to a seasoned trail rider upgrading their fork — we write for real people at every level, not just the gearheads.

What We Do

Your complete cycling
research hub.

From quick how-to fixes to exhaustive buying guides, PedalPickr covers the full spectrum of what cyclists actually search for.

01

In-depth reviews

Detailed breakdowns of e-bike motors, groupsets, suspension, wheels, lights, and everything in between — with clear verdicts you can act on.

02

Head-to-head comparisons

Bosch vs Shimano. Shimano 105 vs Ultegra. RockShox vs Fox. We put competing products side by side so you can see exactly what you’re choosing between.

03

Buying guides

Not sure where to start? Our category guides explain what to look for, what to avoid, and which products actually deliver on their promises.

04

Fix-it guides

Squealing brakes? Chain skipping? E-bike cutting out? Our problem-solving articles diagnose the issue and link you to exactly what you need to fix it.

Our History

How PedalPickr grew.

Mission & Values

What we stand for.

Six principles that guide every piece of content we publish — from a 300-word fix guide to a 4,000-word deep dive.

Value 01

Radical honesty

If a product isn’t worth buying, we say so — even if the brand is a sponsor or a household name. A site that never recommends against anything recommends nothing at all.

Value 02

Evidence first

Every claim we make is backed by spec data, long-term owner experience, or hands-on research. We don’t parrot manufacturer copy or repeat forum speculation.

Value 03

Reader-centred writing

We write for the person trying to solve a real problem — not for SEO bots or brand partnerships. Plain language, clear structure, useful conclusions.

Value 04

Depth over volume

We’d rather publish one genuinely useful 3,000-word guide than ten thin articles stuffed with keywords. Quality takes time — and we think it’s worth it.

Value 05

Always kept current

Components change. Standards evolve. We revisit and update our content regularly so you’re never making a purchase decision based on last year’s information.

Value 06

Independence, always

PedalPickr is fully independent. We have no investors, no brand exclusivity deals, and no editorial direction from advertisers. Our opinions are entirely our own.

How We Work

Our 4-step editorial process.

Every guide, review, and comparison on PedalPickr goes through the same rigorous process before it reaches you.

1

Topic selection

We identify genuine rider questions — from search data, reader emails, and forum discussions — to ensure we’re solving real problems, not inventing content.

2

Deep research

We study spec sheets, test data, long-term owner reviews, manufacturer documentation, and compatibility matrices before writing a single word.

3

Honest writing

Content is written with a clear verdict in mind — not hedged toward any product. We name the winner, explain the trade-offs, and flag who each option is (and isn’t) right for.

4

Regular updates

Published content is reviewed at least annually, or sooner when a product is updated, discontinued, or superseded. Dates are always shown so you know how fresh the information is.

Affiliate transparency: Some links on PedalPickr are affiliate links — if you click and buy, we earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. This never influences our rankings or editorial conclusions. Products are assessed on merit alone. See our Privacy Policy and Affiliate Disclosure for full details.
